David C. Gord

David Carl Gord, the son of Carl and Angie (Bromley) Gord, was born June 6, 1946, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He grew up in the Thor and Eagle Grove area and graduated from Eagle Grove High School with the “Class of 1964”.

     On November 14, 1969, Dave was united in marriage with Linda Middleton. They lived most of their lives in Eagle Grove where he worked for MidAmerican Energy for 32 years, retiring in 2009.

     Dave was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove. He enjoyed collecting all sorts of “treasures” and could often be seen at auctions around the area. Dave’s favorite times were spent with his family.

     Dave passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer at Paula J. Baber Hospice House in Fort Dodge at the age of 77 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Noah James Zarate.

     Survivors include his wife, Linda Gord of Eagle Grove; daughters, Karen Weiskircher of Eagle Grove and Colleen (Logan) Carlson of Norwalk; grandchildren: Katie (Jacob) Brown of Winfield, Jacob (Cooper) Arnold of Boise, ID, Jared Arnold of Cedar Rapids, Emily Weiskircher of Winfield and Caleb and Maggie Carlson of Norwalk; great-grandchildren, Evelynn Arnold, Carter Holt and Eleanor Brown of Winfield and other relatives and friends.

     Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2024, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove. Visitation will be from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday with a Rosary at 2:30 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Eagle Grove.

    Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
