Barbara Lee (Bjornson) Gangstead

Barbara Lee (Bjornson) Gangstead, the daughter of Robert and Ruth (Gordon) Bjornson, was born on January 30, 1933, in Wright County, Iowa, near Goldfield.  She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Goldfield High School in 1951.

     On May 27, 1951, Barbara was united in marriage with Norman Gangstead at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.  The couple made their home and raised their four children on a farm West Goldfield and moved to town after they retired.

     Barbara was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Renwick.  She enjoyed playing cards and Yahtzee.

     Barbara passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018, at the Humboldt North Care Center, at the age of 85 years.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman in 2015 and a great-grandchild.

     Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Herre and husband Pat of Caldwell, ID; son, Doug Gangstead and wife Sandi of Goldfield; daughter, Robin Hamann and husband John of Santa Rosa, CA; son, Mike Gangstead and wife Kathie of Redmond, OR; nine grandchildren: Jacquie, Brian, Danae, Brent, Kevin, Dustin, Sara, Alex and Amanda and12 great-grandchildren.

      Private family services will be held at a later date.

     Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
