Carla Jean (Willard) Schnell

   Carla Jean (Willard) Schnell, the daughter of Louis and Jean (Conaway) Willard, was born on June 24, 1949, at her family home in Eagle Grove, Iowa. 

    On January 4, 1974, Carla was united in marriage to Melvin Schnell in Elk Point, SD.

    Carla worked 40 plus years at Electrolux (Frigidaire) in Webster City.

    Carla enjoyed going to the casino, bowling in her early years, coffee with friends and family, but most of all she loved being around her children and grandchildren.

    Carla passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice House in Fort Dodge, at the age of 70 years.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wade Willard, Brady Willard and Louis (Bud) Willard; brothers-in-law, Ed Hower, Bernard Schnell (Vinnie), Myrt Schnell (Del), Frank Schnell, Larry Schnell, Larry Larson, Bob Schnell and Art Dayton; sister-in-law, Verla Jean Schnell and nephews, Steven Willard & Quincy Babcock.

     Carla is survived by her husband, Melvin Schnell of Eagle Grove; son, Randy Schnell (Brenda) of Waukee; daughter, Shani Becker of Ankeny; grandchildren, Brenden Schnell, Kalyn Becker, Elin Schnell and Elle Schnell; three brothers: Terry Willard (Sandy), Gary Willard, Mark Willard and six sisters: Kathy Skasick (Jack) of Beebe, AR, Naomi Hower of Glen Lyon, PA; Candy Baker (Mike) of Eagle Grove, Jackie Thompson (Mark) of Glenville, MN, Gwen Alcorn of Eagle Grove, IA and Michelle Peterson (Chris Peterson) of Eagle Grove; sisters- in-law, Kathy Willard of Eagle Grove, Ruth Norris of Webster City, June Larson of Webster City, Marcia Dayton of Webster City and Joan Schnell of Webster City and many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.

    Visitation will be Saturday, January 11, 2020, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove.  

    Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
