Christine Wyatt (Thompson) Boyer

    Christine Wyatt (Thompson) Boyer, the daughter of Harold “Buzz” and Frances (Somers) Thompson, was born on November 27, 1946, in Clarion, Iowa.  She was raised and educated in Goldfield, graduating Salutatorian Goldfield High School “Class of 1965”.

    On June 13, 1965, Chris married Charlie Boyer at the Goldfield United Methodist Church.  They lived on a farm north of Eagle Grove for one year and then moved to town.

    Chris worked for the Eagle Grove Middle School as a cook and for Meredith Corp/EDS in Clarion, she retired on November 30, 2007.

    Chris enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family, doing puzzles, reading and listening to music, especially Elvis!

    Chris passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2019, at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll, at the age of 72.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie in 2005 and brothers, Ron and Ken Thompson.

    Chris is survived by her son, Brian Boyer of Eagle Grove; daughter, Jodie Rowedder and husband Lonny of Manning; four grandchildren: Zach Boyer (Nicole) of Eagle Grove, Bailey Boyer (Alex) of Waterloo, Allyson Kocour (Matt) of Williamsburg and Delanie Rowedder of Manning; two great-grandsons, Rhett Boyer and Cayman O’brien; brother, Clyde Thompson of Colorado; sisters, Kathy Sandven of Muscatine, Claudia Garcia of Paso Robles, CA, Ida Lamere of Paso Robles, CA, Susan Smith (Tim) of Tyler, TX and Sally Gendron (Kelly) of Pason Robles, CA and many nieces, nephews and friends.

    Visitation will be Wednesday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home, Eagle Grove.
