Marvin “Bud” Morris Hamer, the son of Morris Pryce and Lea Fanny (Loux) Hamer, was born on September 30, 1925, on a farm southeast of Eagle Grove, Iowa. He was raised and educated in the area of his birth, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1943.
