Phyllis Jean (Latch) Comstock

     Phyllis Jean Comstock, 94, passed away on September 26, 2018, at Rotary Senior Living after an extended illness.  A Memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, October 1, 11:00 a.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church, with visitation an hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

     Phyllis was born on May 27, 1924 in Iowa Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Hazel Latch.  She attended Iowa Falls schools through her junior year and transferred to Eagle Grove and graduated in 1942. 

     On November 3, 1943, she married Robert Comstock and they made their home in Eagle Grove.

     Phyllis was an active member of the United Church of Christ.

     Phyllis was an amazing wife and mother, always putting the needs of others first.  Her home was always filled with a welcoming visit over a cup of coffee and homemade treats.  She was an avid sports fan, including the Hawkeyes, Minnesota Twins and Vikings.  Her favorite was watching all the college basketball teams.

     Phyllis is survived by her children: Roger Comstock (June) of Buckeye, AZ, Rhonda Fitzthum (Lynn) of Sartell, MN, Tom Comstock (Cheri) of Clarion, Tracy Kubik of Eagle Grove and Dave Comstock (Mary Jo) of Hudson, WI; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; step-dad, John Kaplan; husband, Bob; son, Craig; sisters, Geraldine Lewright, Helen Fuller and Joanne Kubik and granddaughters, Sarah Fitzthum and Brooke Daniels.

    Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
