Wade Allen Reeves, the son of Glen “Butch” Reeves and Maxine Hudson Reeves, was born on February 28, 1963, at the Naval Air Station, Whidbey Island, Oak Harbor, Washington. In 1963, the family moved to Graettinger, Iowa, where Wade attended school until the 6th grade. They relocated to Emmetsburg, where Wade graduated from high school in 1981. Wade then attended Spencer School of Business and graduated with his CPA.
After graduation, Wade moved to Cherokee where he met his future wife, Sue, while they were working at Godfather’s Pizza. In 1985, they moved to Humboldt and Wade worked for Kenny’s Shoe Store and Walmart in Fort Dodge.
On June 28, 1986, Wade was united in marriage with Sue Hahn, at St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Cherokee. In 1988, they moved to Eagle Grove and raised a son, Kelven and daughters, Kayla and Karlee. Wade worked 31 years at Van Diest Supply Company in Webster City, where he made many friends and memories. He was also a pizza maker at Casey’s for the last 11 years.
Wade was a member of Samuel Lutheran Church. Anyone who knew Wade, knew he loved the Beatles as much as he loved the Dallas Cowboys! He also collected baseball cards, enjoyed playing fantasy football, was a fan of the Chicago Blackhawks, Cincinnati Reds, newspaper crossword puzzles and playing daily rounds of SongPop on Facebook. Wade was the Admin of “Let The Music Do The Talking” also on Facebook. He really liked attending countless music concerts and was an avid gardener – taking pride in creating one of the most vibrant yards in town!
Wade passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 2, 2020, at the age of 56 years. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Sandra Hahn; grandparents, Marie and John Reeves; uncle,Daryl Reeves and aunt, Diane Reeves.
Wade is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sue; son, Kelven (Jeanette Renken) of Eagle Grove; daughters, Kayla (Mike Magee) of Fort Dodge and Karlee (Zach Wight) of Carroll; mother, Maxine and step-father, Bernard Nelson of Linn Grove; father, Glen “Butch” Reeves of Graettinger; brothers, Dallas Reeves (Michele) of Sartell, MN and Justin Reeves (Traci) of Omaha, NE; half-brother, Patrick Reeves (Donna) of Columbus, NE; father-in-law, Ron Hahn of Cherokee; sisters-in-law, Shelly Hahn and Stacy Skadeland of Cherokee and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends
Visitation will be Sunday, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Memorial services will be Monday, 1:00 p.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Rich Taylor, officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
