Andy J. Hanson

Andrew James Hanson was born December 18 1950 to parents Lester and Esther (Hansen) Hanson in Goldfield Iowa.  Andy attended Goldfield schools graduating in 1969.

Andy served our country in the US Navy in 1969-1973.  On December 15, 1973, Andy was united in marriage with Cynthia Jeanne Engman, in New Port, RI, where Andy was stationed. The couple returned to Iowa and made their home in Goldfield. 

Andy worked several years at G & H Napa, Eagle Grove Iowa; C & R Buick Pontiac, Clarion Iowa and SparboeFoods, Eagle Grove Iowa.

Andy enjoyed driving and repairing automobiles.  He also was an avid fan of TV westerns.

Andy passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020, at the age of 69 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Cindy, his parents, son, Jacob O. Hanson, brother Donald Way and nephew Brett Andersen.

Survivors include his sons, Dan Hanson and wife Heather of Madrid Iowa, Gabriel Hanson of Goldfield Iowa and Nathan Hanson of Goldfield Iowa; granddaughters, Katelyn and Genevieve; sisters Carolyn (Gene) Awtry, Reasnor Iowa, Leandra (Nick) Andersen, Clear Lake Iowa, Cindy (Duane) Sampson, Stuart Florida, Fae (Mark) Lykke, Spencer Iowa.

Visitation with family present Tuesday October 13 from 5pm to 7pm at Foust Funeral Home, Eagle Grove Iowa.  Private family funeral services will be held with burial in Glenwood Cemetery.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
