Arlene Marie (Sherman) Lunde

Arlene Marie Lunde was born on January 30, 1930, near Sandwich, Illinois on the Sherman family farm, the daughter of George and Jessie (McCormick) Sherman.  She graduated from Sandwich High School, “Class of 1948”. 

      On May 1, 1954, Arlene was united in marriage with Richard Lunde at the Sandwich Methodist Church.  They lived most of their married life in Newark, Illinois before moving to Morris in 2004.  Richard preceded her in death on March 28, 2014.  A few years after his death, Arlene moved to Iowa to live with her daughter LouAnn and husband Jim.

      Arlene was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Morris.  She had a love of books and liked cooking, baking, gardening, crafts, painting and traveling.   Arlene also enjoyed her T & T ladies club (Tinker & Talk) and meals with friends at the R-Place restaurant in Morris.

      Arlene passed away on Thursday, May 13, 2021, at Rotary Senior Living in Eagle Grove at the age of 91 years.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Frances Detro and a niece, Bobbie Jean.

      She is survived by her daughter, LouAnn Roth (Pastor Jim) of Leon; son, Allan Lunde (Jill) of Morris, IL; four grandchildren: Emily Rozario (Sheldon) of Little Rock, AR, Kristina Roth-Klinck (Ryan) of Cedar Rapids and Anna and Joshua Lunde of Morris, IL; great-granddaughter, Sophie Jo Rozario – due in July of 2021 and nieces and nephews.

       Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove, with visitation one hour prior to service time.

     Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
