Barbara Jean (Williams) Brown

Barbara Jean (Williams) Brown was born on February 1, 1946, in Webster City, Iowa, the daughter of Richard M. and Miriam (Drzycimski) Williams.  She was raised and educated in Webster City and Eagle Grove.

    On October 2, 1962, Barb was united in marriage with Ernest F. Brown in Eagle Grove.  The couple made their home in Eagle Grove where they raised six children: Jean, Patricia, Charles, James, William and Thomas.  Ernest preceded her in death on April 5, 2011.

    Barb was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

    Barb enjoyed reading, playing cards, BINGO, word searches and watching westerns, the game show network and the Chicago Franchise series.  She truly loved time spent with family – especially her grand and great-grandchildren.

    Barbara passed away suddenly on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at the Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion, at the age of 76 years.   She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Bob Messerschmitt and sister-in-law, Becky Williams.

    Survivors include her children: Jean Thielen (Tom), Patty Davis (Brian), Chuck Brown, Jim Brown, Bill Brown (Kelly) and Thomas Brown; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Richard “Dick” Williams; sisters, Mary Kay Messerschmitt and Sylvia Tincher (Norm) and many nieces, nephews and family.

      Memorial services will be held on Thursday, June 23, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove with visitation from 12:00 pm until service time.  Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.

   Memorial donations may be left to the discretion of the family.
