Beryl D. Reichter

     Beryl DeVere Reichter, the son of Verven and Marvyl (Harvey) Reichter, was born on September 22, 1931, in Goldfield, Iowa. He graduated from Goldfield High School in 1949 and attended Eagle Grove Junior College.

     Beryl was united in marriage with Dorothy Schnell on October 29, 1950, in Goldfield. The couple made their home and raised five children in the Goldfield area, where Beryl farmed.  In retirement, Beryl and Dorothy made and sold crafts and attended craft shows all over the Midwest.  Dorothy preceded him in death on December 27, 2015.

     Beryl was an active member of the Renwick Baptist Church. He also served on the Farm Bureau Board – former president and vice president, Gold Eagle Coop Board, Renwick School Board and was a member of Oakridge Recreation. Beryl was an avid fisherman and wildlife enthusiast.  

     Beryl passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at the Clarion Wellness and Rehab Center, at the age of 91 years.  He was also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marvin Reichter and sister, Jean Gillespie.

    Survivors include his children: Galen (Jackie) of Woodward, Dale (Jackie) of Sidney, Donna (Jim) McCary of Allison, Ron (Kathy) of Clarion and Wayne of North Liberty; 15 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; brother, Arlo (Dianne) Reichter of Ripon, WI; sister-in-law, Janet Reichter of Altoona and brother-in-law, Kenneth Gillespie of Fayetteville, GA.

      Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2023 at Renwick Baptist Church with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church.   Burial in Glenwood Cemetery, Goldfield.

     Memorials may be left to the Renwick Baptist Church.
