Elizabeth Velma Buhr, was born on August 10, 1941 in Webster City, Iowa to John and Vesta (Segar) Wilson. She was raised and educated in Webster City.
Beth was united in marriage with Weldon Buhr on July 15, 1958 at the Holmes Baptist Church. The couple made their home in Eagle Grove and raised six children.
Beth’s life was about her faith, family and caring for others. After raising her children, she was an advocate for women and families, working at D/SAOC in Fort Dodge and also cared for others at the Eagle Grove Group Home ~ continuing to visit them after she retired. Beth also owned a book and bible store in Eagle Grove ~sharing her love of reading and her faith with others.
Beth was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Beth passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2020, at Unity Point Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, at the age of 79 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sandi Buhr Frakes; sister, Vicky Bordwell and son-in-law, Frank Kirsh.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Weldon Buhr; children: Kim Wilson (Jeff) of Eagle Grove, Roxie Kirsh of Florida, Angie Walters (Mike) of Holmes, Julie Buhr of Eagle Grove and Jim Buhr (Johna) of Goldfield; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joan Wilson of Fort Dodge and Dusty Jennings of Arizona; brother, John Wilson (Rhetta) of Montana and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Masks are mandatory and social distancing protocols must be followed. Funeral services for the family only will be held on Friday from the First Baptist Church in Eagle Grove – you can listen to the service from your vehicle in the church parking lot on FM Radio channel 88.5 at 1:30 p.m. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
