Carol Amy Hiveley “Weflen”, the daughter of Walter and Nellie (Beightol) Weflen, was born on May 21, 1948, in Powers Lake, North Dakota. She was raised and educated in Webster City.
On November 26, 1966, Carol was united in marriage with Elwood “Dutch” Hiveley. The couple had one daughter, Elizabeth.
Carol was a member of the Lighthouse Ministries Church in Fort Dodge. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and needle work, as well as gardening and canning. Carol was well studied in the Bible and her faith.
Carol and Dutch spent much of their time together and enjoyed each other’s company. The couple was married for nearly 60 years and showed great love for each other. The couple passed away within 24 hours of each other showing their deep and lasting love.
Carol passed away on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Southfield Wellness in Webster City, Iowa at the age of 77 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Weflen; sister, Ardith King; step-sister, Joyce Psota; and step-father, Herbert Albers.
Survivors include her daughter, Beth (Aaron) Burres of Roland; grandchildren: Caden and Devyn Burres; and sister, Lois Deserly of Renwick and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
