Carol Ann (Wilson) Smith

     Carol Ann (Wilson) Smith, the daughter of Clarence Dale Wilson and Margie Ann Wilson was born March 8, 1946, in Storm Lake, Iowa.  She later moved to Eagle Grove, Iowa where she attended school and continued to reside.

      Carol was united in marriage to Don Smith on June 21, 1963.  To this union were born three daughters, Kim, Denise and Kris.

      Carol was a cook at the Eagle Grove Middle School, bartender at The Smoke Shop, manager at The Goldfield Country Club and caregiver of her grandchildren Allison and Austin.

      Carol passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, April 22, 2023.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Dale & Margie Wilson; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Frank Howard; sons-in-law Jack Pamperin and Randy Purcell; niece, Diane Gillman and nephew, Darrin Wilson.

      Carol is survived by husband and love of her life, Don, of Eagle Grove; daughters Kim Ford (Thom) of Eagle Grove, Denise Mutzenberger (Jeff) of Bellevue, Nebraska and Kris Purcell of Eagle Grove; grandchildren: Brittney, Blake, Jessica, Collin, Allison and Austin; great grandchildren, Madden and Mavryk and brothers, Dale Wilson (Debbie) and Mike Wilson (Ione).

     Visitation will be held at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove on Wednesday, April 26 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.  A graveside service will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery on Thursday, April 27th at 10:00 a.m.  Guests are encouraged to wear Iowa Hawkeye apparel on Thursday in honor of Carol’s beloved Hawkeyes.
