David Patrick Jeanblanc was born on February 13, 1953, in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Alvin and Mary Cecelia (Lampe) Jeanblanc. David grew up on the family farm southwest of Vincent. He graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1971. David then attended Iowa Central community College in Fort Dodge.
In 1974, David began working for MidAmerican Energy as a lineman where he continued to work until retiring on February 1, 2015.
On March 16, 1974, David was united in marriage to Joyce Johnson at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Fort Dodge. They made their home in Eagle Grove.
David was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Izaak Walton League in Renwick, International Brotherhood of Electrical workers, Whitetails Unlimited, Ducks Unlimited, and Oakridge Recreation in Goldfield. He also enjoyed fishing in Canada, sitting around a bonfire, listening to music, and going for rides in his truck.
David passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at the Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion, Iowa at the age of 68 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Mark Jeanblanc.
Survivors include his loving wife, Joyce Jeanblanc of Eagle Grove; two daughters, Jamie Jeanblanc of Wylie, TX and Jill Jeanblanc (Scott Nelson) of Fitchburg, WI; his grandson, Leo Nelson; siblings, Ellen (Rich) Harper, Ann Bowers, Laura (Barry) Bohlman, Joel Jeanblanc, Nancy (Terry) Handley; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of David’s Life will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in his garage at 521 West Broadway.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
