David K. Read

     David Keith Read, the son of Ross B. and Rosemary L. (Hall) Read, was born March 14, 1947, at Fort Dodge, Ia.  He was raised in Otho where he attended elementary school and graduated from Fort Dodge High School with the “Class of 1967”.

     David married Alberta Jacobson and they had two children, Tammy and Douglas. The couple later divorced.  David worked for the City of Badger for 25 years in maintenance and as a police officer.

     David loved drag racing and his dogs: Ruby, Sadie and Roxy. He lived at the Villa Cottages where the staff and residents became his family.

     David passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020, at Villa Cottages in Fort Dodge at the age of 73 years.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

     Survivors include his daughter, Tammy (Daryl) Short of Calendar; son, Douglas (Mindy) Read of Fort Dodge; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; brother, Corky Read of Otho and a sister, Vicki K. (Mick) Boyington of Goldfield.

      There are no services planned at this time.  Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family – they can be mailed to 521 Hwy 3 West, Goldfield, Iowa 50542.
