Dennis Eric Martin, the son of Walter and Betty (Anderson) Martin, was born on December 29, 1956, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was raised and educated in Renwick, graduating from Boone Valley High School in 1975. Dennis owned and operated a welding and fabricating company and farmed for many years. He also worked at Hagie Manufacturing for 10 years, drove truck and continued his love of farming by helping others.
Dennis was married to Brenda (Burgess) Martin for 10 years and they raised their family outside of Renwick. He has made his home in Clarion for many years with his long-time partner, Diane Reed, who passed away on July 27, 2020.
Dennis was a member of the United Methodist Church in Renwick and had been attending the United Presbyterian Church in Goldfield with Diane and her family.
Dennis enjoyed the outdoors – camping, traveling, golfing, grilling, fishing – especially with his grandkids and taking them on other adventures, teaching new skills and to never be afraid He also liked singing, canning, playing pool and cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones and Dallas Cowboys.
Dennis loved all of his family (even though he tried often to embarrass them!). He will be remembered for his generosity, teaching ability, passion, sense of humor, strong faith, selflessness and valued work ethic. Dennis had a huge heart that cared deeply for all of his loved ones.
