Diane Louise (Hansen) Cumming

Diane Louise (Hansen) Cumming, the daughter of Robert and Eloise (Hawkins) Hansen, was born on June 13, 1941, in rural Goldfield.  She was raised and educated in the Goldfield and Eagle Grove areas and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1959.  Diane then attended Drake University, University of Iowa and Roosevelt University, where she was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority.

     In August of 1962, Diane married Charles Cumming at the United Presbyterian Church in Goldfield.  The couple made their home in Peoria and Chicago, Illinois before returning to Iowa and raise three children in Fort Dodge and Ames.  They later divorced.  Diane worked for Members First Community Credit Union in Ames for 20 plus years.

     Diane was an avid reader, loved to cook, care for plants and macramé.

     Diane passed away on Friday, September 17, 2021, at Accura Healthcare of Ames, at the age of 80 years.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Richard Hansen and sisters-in-laws, Barbara and Karlene Hansen.

      Survivors include her children: Chris Cumming of Torrance, CA and twins, Todd Cumming of Ames and Tracy Cumming of Sacramento, CA; two grandchildren, Jake and Giavanna Cumming and many cousins, other family and friends.

      Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, 11:00 a.m. at the United Presbyterian Church in Goldfield with Pastor Sara Sutter officiating. Visitation is Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield.

      Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
