Dolores Darlene (Malaise) Olmstead

      Dolores (Dee) Darlene Olmstead was born on July 16, 1934, to Clarence and Rose (Bohy) Malaise in Woolstock, Iowa. 

     She married Harold Olmstead on December 25, 1950.  They lived in Shreveport, Louisiana while he was in the military and then made their home in Eagle Grove where they raised two children Brenda and Michael. Dee was a stay-at-home mom and babysitter when their children were growing up. She then worked as the Activities Director at Rotary Ann Nursing Home for over 35 years until retirement.

     Dee had several great loves in her life. The first were her Savior and her family. She also loved Bingo, spending time at the senior center, fishing trips with family and reading the scriptures for Saturday evening church.

     Dee passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at Rotary Senior Living, at the age of 86 years.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother.

     She is survived by her children, Brenda Olmstead and Mike Olmstead and wife Lori; brother, Larry Malaise and wife Dawn; four grandchildren: Stephanie Olmstead, Joshua Olmstead, Jennifer Olmstead, Michael R. Olmstead; nephew, Stephen Malaise; niece, Angie Sullivan; 5 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

      Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 1, 2021, 10:30 a.m. at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove with Pastor Jason Cooper officiating.  Visitation is from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the church.  Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.

      Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
