Frances "Fran" Lenore Lindstrom

Frances “Fran” Lenore Lindstrom, the daughter of Grover S. and Gertrude D. (Fisher) Yoder, was born on January 8, 1935, in Woolstock, where she raised and educated.  Fran graduated from Webster City High School with the “Class of 1952”. 

     On July 14, 1952, Fran was united in marriage to Donald D. Lindstrom in Oakland CA.  She worked as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service in Eagle Grove from the 1970’s until 1991, retiring after Don passed away.  Fran then attended Iowa Central Community College and received her LPN Certificate and worked as an In-Home caregiver.

     Fran was a member of Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove.  She was a fantastic cook and loved spending time with her grandchildren.  Fran also enjoyed fishing, quilting, college basketball (Hawkeyes), baseball (TWINS) and feeding the birds.

     Fran passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2020, at Rotary Senior Living in Eagle Grove, at the age of 85 years.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don on February 1, 1991; brothers, Martin, Bernard, Cedric, Don and Grover Jr. and sisters, Venetta Kepler, Margaret Stangeland, Faye Moser and Kay Thomas.

     Survivors include her children, Larry Lindstrom (Margaret) of Eagle Grove, Christine Portis (Wilbert) of San Antonio, TX, Steve Lindstrom of Eagle Grove, Rene' Dreyer (Jack) of Humboldt, Donald Lindstrom (Mary) of Eagle Grove, and Ginger Harlan (Dan) of Rochester, MN; longtime friend, Delbert Christensen; 12  grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren and two sisters, Lela LaRue of Boone and Terrie Becker of St.  Joe.

    Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.

    Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 28, 2020, at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove with Pastor Nicholas Thackery officiating.  Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove.   Wearing Masks and Social Distancing are encouraged.  Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Eagle Grove.
