Gary “Diesel” Lee Rosendahl was born to Edna Rosendahl on November 23, 1945, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He lived in rural Claire until the 4th grade and moved to Eagle Grove where he graduated from Eagle Grove High School with the “Class of 1964”.
On April 13, 1968, Gary was united in marriage to Nancy Thompson at Hauge Lutheran Church in Goldfield. They made their home in Eagle Grove and he worked for 47 years as a custom applicator and truck driver for Farmers Coop which became Gold-Eagle Coop. Diesel was always one of the first to work and last to leave every day.
Gary was a dedicated father never missing his children’s events. Although he worked long hours, he always found ways to be in the auditorium or gym for each and every event. He was a member of the Holmes Lutheran Church and served on the Wright County CERT Team, Eagle Grove Auxiliary Police Force and provided night security during the Wright County Fair for many years. Diesel enjoyed camping, flowers, gardening and loved ice cream. Never passing up and sometimes even detouring out of his way to go to a Dairy Queen.
