Gert F. Comstock

Gertrude Fay Comstock, the daughter of Lester and Lois (Ferguson) Comstock, was born on October 23, 1954, in Clarion, Iowa.  She was raised and educated in Eagle Grove.

      Gert worked for Hawk Golf Bag Company in Clarion and Dodger Manufacturing in Eagle Grove.  She also earned her degree in Human Services and was a “stay-at-home grandma” – helping to watch, care for and raise her grandchildren.

      Gert enjoyed her weekend BINGO outings for many years with her mom and aunt and going to rummage sales.  She also loved being outdoors, fishing and sitting at the lake -watching her grandchildren run around and play or just being in her back yard with a bonfire and family.

      Gert passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the age of 68 years.  She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Leslie “Bubba” Comstock and infant son, Baby John.

       Gert is survived by Walter Gross, her best friend and partner for the last 38 years; daughter, Jamie Cramer (Jayson) of Goldfield; son, Jeromy Comstock of Goldfield; ten grandchildren: Dessa Comstock, Gage, Meah, Chase, Gunner and Arcadia Cramer, Avery (Comstock) and Riley (Comstock) Gill and Weston and Axel Comstock; two great-grandchildren, Waylon and Wyatt McPherson and nephew, Damien Comstock.

         A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 8, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the enclosed shelter house at Lake Cornelia – 1768 Obrien Ave Clarion
