Gwen D. (Willard) Alcorn

Gwendolyn Denise (Willard) Alcorn, the daughter of Louis and Jean (Conaway) Willard, was born on May 1, 1958, in Clarion, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Eagle Grove.

    Gwen’s family remember her as a “Free Spirit”!  She was always happy, never held a grudge, wanted to help others and constantly giving things away.  She was a caregiver to many.  Gwen loved being a mother and grandmother.

    Gwen passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, with her daughter by her side, at the Taylor Hospice House in Des Moines, at the age of 63 years.  She was Preceded in death by her parents; nephews, Steven Willard and Quincy Babcock; brothers Brady, Wade, Terry, Bud (Char), Mark and Michael “Gary” Willard and sister, Carla Schnell.

     Gwen is survived by her daughter, Brittany Finley and her husband, Joe; grandchildren, Connor and Murphy; sisters: Naomi Hower of Wapwallopen, PA, Jacquelyne Thompson (Mark) of Glenville, MN, Michelle Peterson (Chris) of Eagle Grove, Candy Baker (Mike) of Eagle Grove and Kathy Skasick (Jack) of Beebe, AK; brother-in-law Melvin Schnell of Eagle Grove; sisters-in-law, Kathy Willard of Eagle Grove, Jane Willard of Eagle Grove and Sandy Willard of Eagle Grove and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. 

        Visitation is Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home.  Graveside services are Monday, 11:00 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery.

     Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family and mailed to Brittany 45 SE Waddell Way Waukee, IA 50263.
