James Allen Madson

      James Allen Madson, the son of Harold and Margaret (Harmon) Madson, was born on September 1, 1947 in Eagle Grove, Iowa.  He was raised and educated in the area of his birth, graduating from Eagle Grove High School, “Class of 1966”.   He then attended AIB in Des Moines and worked in Kansas City.

       Jim served in the Unites States Navy during the Vietnam War from February of 1968 until his honorable discharge in February of 1974.

      On January 16, 1971, Jim was united in marriage with Doris Stockdale in Eagle Grove.  He retired from Farmland Industries Feed Mill in 1998.

      Jim was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the V.F.W. and American Legion.   He enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

      Jim passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2020, at the age of 72. Years.  He was preceded in death by his father, Harold and brother, Robert Madson.

      Survivors include his wife, Doris Madson of Eagle Grove; children: Aeron Madson-Beck and her children, Christian, Samuel, Cori and Jaci all of Colorado, Steffani Madson (Travis Cummins) and her sons, Trey and Hunter Cummins of Joice, Bob Madson and his children, Darrin, Katelynn and Korra of Eagle Grove and Andrew Madson (Lyndsey Wepel) and children, Ellie, Avery and Camden of Eagle Grove; mother, Margaret Madson of Eagle Grove; brother, Stan Madson (Donna) of Eagle Grove; sister, Lois McIver of Eagle Grove and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

      A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home, Eagle Grove.

      Memorials will be left to the discretion of the family and mailed to 1521 N. Iowa Eagle Grove, IA 50533.
