Jean A. (Amonson) Jorgensen

Jean Arlene Jorgensen, the daughter of Omer and Bernice (Johnson) Amonson, was born on September 7, 1934 in Eagle Grove.  She was raised and educated in Eagle Grove graduating with the “Class of 1952”.

     On April 8, 1956, Jean was united in marriage to Rodney H. Jorgensen at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.  The couple made their home in Eagle Grove where they raised their son, Tom. 

     Jean’s life was about her family and the family farm.  She worked at various businesses in Eagle Grove.  She was a member of Samuel Lutheran Church.

     Jean passed away Monday, December 14, 2020, at her home surrounded by her family at the age of 86 years.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rodney on December 14, 2015; sisters, Bernadine Tuttle and Marlene Jorgensen; brothers, Lyle Amonson, Richard Amonson and infant brother, Orin Amonson.

     Survivors include her son, Tom Jorgensen and his wife, Elaine of Eagle Grove and two grandchildren, Kayla Jorgensen of Houston, Texas and Kent Jorgensen of Forest City, Iowa.

      There are no services planned at this time.  Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family – they can be mailed to 501 S. Park Ave Eagle Grove, IA 50533.
