John Leslie Sheets

John Leslie Sheets, the son of John and Ethel (Paskin) Sheets, was on born October 2, 1928, in rural Renwick, Iowa.  He was raised and educated in the Renwick area.

     John married Lois Anderson on May 14, 1949, in Clarion, Iowa.  The couple moved to Goldfield in 1949, Woolstock in 1955, Webster City in 1982, Eagle Grove in 1996, to Webster City in 1999 and then returned to Eagle Grove.

     John worked for Electrolux in Webster City for 39 years, retiring in 1991. He was a charter member of the U.A.W. 442 during his employment.

     John was a long-time member of the Woolstock Methodism Church and served on the

administrative board and numerous other positions.  He also participated in many nursing home ministry activities.

     John passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Rotary Senior Living in Eagle Grove, at the age of 94 years.  He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois; son, Randy Sheets; two great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Doug Pinkele; three brothers, Virgil, Merle and Raymond and three sisters, Mae Sheets, Beulah Williamson and Alice Waddell.

     Survivors include his daughter, Jeanine Pinkele of Eagle Grove; son, Eugene Sheets of webster City; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; sister, Lila Ortman of Washburn and sisters-in-law, Marge Sheets of Eagle Grove and Bonnie Sheets of Goldfield.

      Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Eagle Grove with visitation from 9:30 until service time at the church.  Burial in Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield.

     Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
