Kenneth Charles Hamer, the son of Harvey O. and Florence O. (Smith) Hamer, was born on April 8, 1939, on the family farm in Woolstock, Iowa. He was raised on the family farm and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1957.  Kenny then attended Iowa Central Community College.
