Kenneth Francis Trausch

Kenneth Francis Trausch, son and youngest of seven children, of Stephen and Anna (Thul) Trausch, was born on April 30, 1936, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was raised and educated in the area of his birth, attending Catholic School until the eighth grade, and graduating from Eagle Grove High School “Class of 1954”.

    On May 19, 1956, Kenny was united in marriage with the love of his life, Darlene Marie Wagner in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The couple made their home and raised four children in a home he and his father built just East of Eagle Grove.

    Kenny served in the Iowa Army National Guard, 34th MP Co and Co C 234th Trans. Bn.

    Kenny farmed and worked for Sadler Construction, Umthun Trucking and Rees Sales & Service.

    Kenny was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus ~ very active with the Tootsie Roll Campaign and the Wright County Fair Food Stand.  He enjoyed woodworking, metal projects, hunting, traveling, working in his shop, riding bikes, long walks and he loved Christmas!

    Kenneth passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022, at Rotary Senior Living, at the age of 86 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Stephen, Paul, Harold, Duane, Irene, and Mary Anne.

    Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Darlene of Eagle Grove; daughters: Janet Carter (Ron) of Bethany, MO, Julie Hinz (Brian) of Eagle Grove, and Jolene Tweeten (Larry) of Lexington, KY; son, Jerry Trausch (Bonita) of LeGrand; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Roger Wagner (Janelle) of Badger  and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

       Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Eagle Grove with Father Jerry Blake, celebrant. Visitation is Wednesday from 4 :00 to 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary/Vigil at 3:15 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. The burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Eagle Grove.

    Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
