Linda Louise (Hotz) Peterson

      Linda Louise Peterson was born on July 9, 1941, in Nevada, Iowa, the daughter of Richard and Thelma (Lack) Hotz.  She was raised and educated in Eagle Grove, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1959 and then Eagle Grove Junior College. 

     On July 26, 1963, Linda married Randy Peterson at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove and they had a son, Chris.  The couple later divorced.

     In 1984, Linda began a long and successful career with the Eagle Grove Area Chamber of Commerce, serving as Chamber Secretary and then taking the Executive Director position in 1986.  She retired in 1999.

     Linda was a member of the United Methodist Church.  She also served on the Eagle Grove City Council (2001-2005), Our Foundation for the Future and Rotary Club.  Linda enjoyed watching Iowa Hawkeye football, dogs, shopping, and spending time with her grandkids.

     Linda died on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Clarion, at the age of 82 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Bruce Middleton and stepsister, Jane Gustafson.

     Linda is survived by her son, Chris Peterson (Michelle) of Eagle Grove and grandsons: Jessie Peterson (Alison) of Iowa Falls, Ben Peterson of Cedar Rapids and Jacob Peterson of North Liberty.
