Lonnie LaVere Whipple

      Lonnie LaVere Whipple, the son of LaVere and Patricia (Clarken) Whipple, was born September 1, 1963, in Webster City, Iowa. This date was always extra special to him as he shared it with his grandmother, Velsie Clarken. He was raised and educated in Eagle Grove, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1981.

      Lonnie married Patty Brady and they had two sons, Zachary and Jordon.  He later married Beverly Bisson, and they had a son, Vincent and also gained two daughters, Amanda and Kay-Ley.  On April 20th, 2014, Lonnie was united in marriage to Christina Loux. They made their home in Eagle Grove where Lonnie worked at K&K Construction, Equimco and Farmland (Koch) Industries.

      To find relaxation Lonnie enjoyed woodworking and mushroom hunting.  He also enjoyed playing cribbage, which he learned from his mother and was known to be very good at math. Those who knew Lonnie could find him spending time with family at Spirit Lake, Okoboji and Twin lakes or listening to classic rock music with friends. During the football season you could find him cheering for his favorite team, the Minnesota Vikings. Lonnie loved his family, kids and grandkids and had a heart of gold.

      Lonnie passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023, at Clarion Wellness & Rehab, at the age of 59 years.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Whipple and grandparents, Robert and Velsie Clarken and Lyle and Angie Whipple.

      Lonnie is survived by his wife, Christina Whipple of Eagle Grove; children, Zachary Whipple (Jenna) of Eagle Grove, Jordon Whipple (Sarah) of Spencer, Vincent Whipple (Alesha) of Fremont Nebraska, Amanda Foust (Matt) of Altoona, Kay-Ley Bisson (Brent Chamberlin) of Eagle Grove, Brandy Weidenhamer (Corey) of Morrison, CO and Deric Oney (Shelby) of Eagle Grove; grandchildren, Adrian, Morgan, Reagan, Oaklan, Kaitlyn, Skylar, Ila, Jude, Ben, Arianna, Naomi, Zoey, and Willa; father, LaVere “Whip” Whipple of Eagle Grove and sister, Lori Nelson (Kevin) of Bayard.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
