Marilyn Rosa (Wilde) Helmick

Marilyn Rosa (Wilde) Helmick, the daughter of Cecil F. and Laura C. (Buhner) Wilde, was born on March 27, 1938, at the family home, 316 S. Cadwell in Eagle Grove, Iowa.  She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Eagle Grove High School, “Class of 1956”.

     On August 7, 1956, Marilyn was united in marriage to Dean Helmick in Eagle Grove.

     Marilyn worked in the family business for many years caring for numerous flowers and plants at the Eagle Grove Greenhouse.  She was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church.

     Marilyn passed away in her home surrounded by family on Friday, January 14, 2022, at the age of 83 years.  She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Denae` Schaumburg and grandson, Jared Schaumburg

     Survivors include her husband, Dean of Eagle Grove; daughter, Deann Morgan (Dave) of Belmond; son, Dirk Helmick (Denise) of Eagle Grove; son-in-law, John Schaumburg of Edgewood, NM; six grandchildren: Kurt Morgan (Alexis), Daleacia Schechinger (Jason) of Huxley, Jorey Schaumburg (Alexis) of Edgewood, NM, Jaryn Schaumburg of Albuquerque, NM, Alex Helmick (Hanna) of Webster City and Cody Helmick (Jenna) of Webster City;  ten great-grandchildren and brothers, Clarence Wilde (Betty) of Eagle Grove and Paul Wilde (Bev) of Eagle Grove.

     Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Eagle Grove.  Visitation is Monday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home.  Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery.
