Mary K (Vanatter) Claude

Mary K. Claude, daughter of Thomas and Helen (Clark) Vanatter, was born June 2, 1943 in Catlettsburg, Boyd County, Kentucky.

After moving to Iowa in her childhood, she met and was united in marriage with Jerry L. Claude in Woolstock, Iowa on June 8, 1963. They shared their lives while living in multiple locations across Iowa, Missouri, Georgia, Kansas, and Arizona where Jerry still resides today.

Mary passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the Vesta House @ Park Senior Villas in Chandler, Arizona at the age of 80 years. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Helen Vanatter, her stepfather Curtis Vanatter, and her Brother-in-law Robert Mazza.

Survivors include her husband Jerry Claude of Chandler, AZ; daughter Dorinda Hamilton and husband Robert Hamilton of Chandler, AZ; her son David Claude and wife Trista Claude of Loveland, CO; Two Sisters (Judy Malaise and husband Ray Malaise; Diane Mazza); and brother Thomas Vanatter and wife Linette Vanatter); Five grandchildren (Kylie Hamilton, Naia Hamilton, Grace Claude, Cannon Hamilton & Cael Claude); and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at 1:30 pm at the French Cemetery in Woolstock, Iowa. Pastor Alaire Willits of the Eagle Grove United Methodist Church will be officiating. Following the ceremony, a reception will be held, time and place will be announced at the service.
