Maxine Lund Obituary

Maxine Winifred Lund, the daughter of Hans and Emma (Mandelko) Helgevold, was born On June 27, 1921, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She grew up on a farm north of Goldfield and attended country school at Liberty Township #6 until her family moved to Eagle Grove where she started 7th grade and graduated from Eagle Grove High School.

On March 19, 1941, Maxine was united in marriage to Harold Franklin Lund at the Thor Lutheran Church parsonage. They lived and farmed near Thor for many years.

Maxine was a member of Ullensvang Lutheran Church in Thor. She was a great cook and baker.

Maxine passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at the age of 100 years. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold in 1999 and daughter, Barbara Wilson.

She is survived by her children: Frances Miller of Lansing, MI, Pauline Lund of Ankeny and Lowell Lund of Thor; 11 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; great great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Family Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Northlawn Cemetery in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
