Michael Charles Johnson

Michael Charles Johnson, the son of Charles and Norma (Hamer) Johnson, was born on June 18, 1963, in Fort Dodge, Iowa.  He was raised and educated in Eagle Grove, graduating in the Class of 1982.  

    He then attended the University of Iowa and I.C.C.C.

    In 1990, Michael moved to Denver, Colorado where he lived until moving to his current home in Lawrence, Kansas in 2000.

    Michael was baptized and confirmed at Samuel Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove.

    Michael passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2019, at the age of 56 years.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Chuck and Norma Johnson.

    Michael is survived by his step-mother, Marilyne Johnson of Eagle Grove; sisters, Becky Fjetland (Bill) of Algona, Mona Schonberg (Mark) of Lawrence, KS, Linda Johnson of Ft. Collins, CO and Beth Johnson of Lawrence, KS; step-brother, Rob Brown (Brenda) of Ames; nieces and nephews: Shala  Fjetland-Cotner (Nick), Jason Schonberg (Regina), Sonja Everhart (Doug), Grant Fjetland (Megan), Bethany McKenzie (Jason) and Jayd Brown; great nieces and nephews: Jacob, Nyah and Adam Everhart, Brett and Emerson Schonberg, Cody and Carson McKenzie, Quynn and Zachary Cotner and Will and Mila Fjetland; uncles, Richard Johnson of Florida and Marvin (Bud) Hamer of Eagle Grove and aunts, Phyllis Bauman of Eagle Grove and  Margaret Murphy of Auburn, AL.

    Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2019, at Holmes Lutheran Church with the Pastor Rich Taylor officiating, with visitation will be from 9:30 am until service time at the church.  Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Eagle Grove.
