Michelle “Shelly” Joann Gambrill, the daughter of Richard and Lavonne, (Burns) Ehrhardt, was born on January 4, 1964, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Livermore and graduated from Twin River Valley High School in Livermore in 1982. Shelly attended Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge to become a dental assistant.
On May 2, 1992, Shelly was united in marriage to Doug Gambrill at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Eagle Grove.
Shelly worked at Frigidaire in Webster City, as a teacher’s aide for Eagle Grove Community Schools. She attended Iowa Central Community College where she received her Registered Nursing Degree in 2011. Shelly started her nursing career with Clarion Wellness and Rehab, Mercy Medical Center in Dyersville, Iowa, Specialty Hospital in Clarion and became a traveling nurse in 2016.
Shelly became a member of Grace Evangelical Free Church in Eagle Grove in 2003. She enjoyed making candles, scrapbooking, and spoiling little kids with things she would make or buy for them. Shelly loved her dog Sophie and raising dogs, especially Dachshunds. She cherished the time she spent with Jared and Mitch, they loved her cooking (she made the best lasagna). When Doug would go for a ride on his motorcycle, she always jumped on the back, one of her favorite things to do.
Shelly passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, in Clarion at the age of 56 years. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Ehrhardt in 2015.
Shelly is survived by her husband, Doug Gambrill of Clarion; two sons, Jared Gambrill and Mitch Gambrill of Clarion; her mother, Lavonne Ehrhardt of Humboldt; brother, Rick Ehrhardt and his wife Sandi of Ankeny; niece and nephew, Tosha and Nicolas; her beloved, Sophie and many other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at Grace Evangelical Free Church in Eagle Grove with Pastor Tim Olson officiating – Face masks and social distancing are required in the church. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove. Please practice social distancing and wearing masks is encouraged.
