Paul Lynn Russell

      Paul Lynn Russell, the son of Leo and Louise (Benton) Russell, was born on November 13, 1961, in Clarion, Iowa.  He was raised and educated in Eagle Grove, graduating with the “Class of 1980”. After graduation Paul spent some time in New York, Texas and the Des Moines area before making his home in the Eagle Grove area.

      Paul was united in marriage with Stacy Ann Resh in 1991 at the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden.  Together they had two sons, Nick and Cody. They later divorced.

     Paul worked for Sande Construction, and briefly partnered with MAP construction and other construction companies but spent most of his life self employed as a contractor.  He truly loved construction and building and was known to be a perfectionist with his finish work.

      Paul enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing, and on his motorcycle.  He was a bookworm and read a wide variety of books. One of his favorite things was spending time with family and friends, talking and entertaining with his personality and jokes.   

      Paul passed away on Friday, June 9, 2023, in Key West, Florida, at the age of 61 years.  He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; sister, Susie Long; niece, Nikki Russell, former wife, Stacy Russell; brother’s-in-law, Keith Chase, Rick Lockwood and Jon Cirksena.

     Survivors include his sons; Nick Russell of Clinton and Cody Russell of Eagle Grove; sisters: Jackie Lockwood of Leavenworth, KS, Paulette Cirksena of Eagle Grove, Shelly Chase of Bemidji, MN, and Mary Beth Russell of Eagle Grove; brothers: Tony Russell (Mary) of Fort Dodge, Andy Russell (Marilyn) of Gilmore City, and Pat Russell (Laurie) of Eagle Grove; aunt Kathy (Bob) Keeling of Clarion; and many nieces and nephews and numerous friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday June 16th, 2023 from 4:30-6:00p.m., at Foust Funeral home in Eagle Grove with a memorial service to follow at 6:00 p.m.

     The family would like to invite everyone to the Rails Depot following the service for a time of sharing and a meal.
