Russell Tilley Obituary

      Russell Dean Tilley, the son of Richard Dean and LaVonne (Lawrence) Tilley, was born on November 29, 1955, in Boone County, Iowa.  Russ graduated from Boone High School in 1974.  He then attended Lincoln Tech in Des Moines.  Russ also served in the Iowa Army National Guard for many years before his honorable discharge.

      In 1983, Russ married Mary Page at the Open Bible Church in Boone, Iowa.  Mary preceded him in death on May11, 2019.

      Russ worked as a mechanic – fixing anything that was broken.  He enjoyed putting together model cars, fishing, mushroom and asparagus hunting and target shooting.

      Russ passed away on Monday, August 8, 2022, at the age 66 years.  He was also preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, LeAnna Tilley and Christina Ruby and brother, Raymond Tilley.

       He is survived by his brothers, Rod Tilley (Cheryl)) of Eagle Grove and Robby Tilley (Debbie) of Boone; daughter, Shuri Chitty of Eagle Grove; son, Kevin Page of Klemme; brother-in-law, Doug Page (Lee) of Des Moines and grandsons, William and Gabriel Page and Dylan and Dominick Emery of Ankeny.

       A Celebration of Life for Russ will be held on Sunday, August 14, from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. at 111 NW 8th Street Eagle Grove, Iowa.

    Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
