Ruth E. (Nelson) Rasmussen Eudy

Ruth E. Eudy, the daughter of Norman J. and Louise (Nelson) Nelson was born March 13, 1928, in Wright County, Iowa.  She was raised and educated in the area of her birth, graduating from Eagle Grove High School in 1947.

     She was united in marriage to Harold Rasmussen on November 2, 1948, in Fort Dodge. The couple made their home in rural Goldfield.   Harold preceded her in death in July of 1975.  Ruth married Fred D. Eudy on December 28, 1982, in Lake Meade, AZ.  The couple wintered in Meadview, Pierce Ferry, Lake Mead and Kingman, Arizona and they also made their home rural Goldfield.   Fred preceded her in death in September of 2007.

    Ruth was a member of Lake Lutheran Church in rural Goldfield.

     Ruth passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Rotary Senior Living, at the age of 93 years.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Dennis Rasmussen; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters, Dorothy Sherman, Iline Sullivan and Esther Keith and brother, Robert Nelson.

     Ruth enjoyed camping and the ‘camping group’, playing cards, cooking, and watching birds and deer.

     Ruth is survived by her sons, Bruce E. Rasmussen (Stephanie) of Goldfield and Galen A. Rasmussen (Kathy) of Eagle Grove; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 7 great great-grandchildren; brother, Harold Nelson of Virginia and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

     Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at Lake Lutheran Church in rural Goldfield with Pastor Don Bell officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove.  Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.

     Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
