S. Janice "Jan" Trepp

Sara Janice (Jan) Trepp, 85, of Eagle Grove died on January 31st, 2020 at Crestview in Webster City.

      Jan was born on November 19th, 1934 to Donald and Neva Henry. She graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1953, and from Simpson College in 1955 with a teaching degree.

     Upon graduation she taught school in Reinbeck, Iowa where she reconnected with her 4H buddy Larry Trepp. They were married on February 11th, 1956 and moved to Ames where Larry influenced her into becoming a lifelong Cyclone. They were married for 42 years until Larry’s death in 1998. They had four children: Marty (Terri) Trepp, Dan (Kellee) Trepp, Becca Albers, and Laura (Jim) Oates. She had nine grandchildren: Tyler (Lauryn) Trepp, Meghan (Ryan) Gambrall, Lizzie, (Chad) Gubbels, Maddee Trepp, Daniel Trepp, Laura Albers, Andy (Rachel) Albers, Jared Oates, and Jana Oates, and three great-grandchildren: Carly Trepp, Nash Gambrall, and Coraline Gubbels.

       Jan loved to sing, act, and help others. She was active in her children’s and grandchildren’s school and church activities. She played major roles in several productions by the Paddlewheel Players in Eagle Grove and sang with the Eagle Grove Chorale. As an avid gardener, she always had something growing around her house all year long. She was active in her church; she was a faithful member in the women’s Bible study and enjoyed making several flavors of tea for her church family.

       She was proceeded in death by her parents, her brothers David and George, her husband, Larry, infant daughter Dorann, and son-in-law, John Albers. 

       Services will be on Saturday, February 8th at 11:00 at Grace Evangelical Free Church in Eagle Grove, Iowa.
