Sandra Lea (Larson) Powell

Sandra Lea Powell was born on December 6, 1939, in Webster City, Iowa, the daughter of John and Elvira (Williams) Larson.  She graduated from Webster City High School, “Class of 1958”. 

       On April 11, 1959, Sandra was united in marriage with Donald L. Powell in Princeton, MO.  They made their home in Webster City, Eagle Grove and moved to Goldfield in 1988.  Sandra drove a cab in Webster City, managed the warehouse for Meredith/NEO Data in Clarion and after getting her CDL, she made many long-distance hauls with her husband in the semi-truck.  Don preceded her in death on April 22, 2004.

       Sandra was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Goldfield and the Red Hat Ladies.  She loved spending time with her family, crafting and bird watching, especially cardinals.

       Sandra passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, at Unity Point Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, at the age of 81 years.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughters, Rebecca and Crystal; sisters, Delores and Darlene and brother, Darwin.

      She is survived by her son, Randy Powell of Goldfield; daughters, Pam Ellis (Joel) of Goldfield and Heather Christensen (Kevin) of Goldfield; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, John Larson (Donna) of Webster City; sister-in-law, Bonnie Weise of Wisconsin and many nieces and nephews.

      Visitation will be Monday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 11:00 a.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove.  Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Goldfield.

     Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
