Shelly Jean (Summers) Gill

    Rochelle Jean “Shelly” Gill, the daughter of Walter and Norma (Smith) Summers, was born on June 2, 1960, in Fort Dodge, Iowa.  She was raised and educated in Eagle Grove, graduating from Eagle Grove High School “Class of 1980”.

     On June 5, 1980, Shelly was united in marriage with Bryan Gill.  The couple made their home in Eagle Grove and raised four children.

      Shelly enjoyed all kinds of “arts & crafts”, crocheting, shopping, BINGO, yard work, fishing, and camping.  She also liked selling Mary Kay Cosmetics and Paparazzi Jewelry.

      Shelly passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, with her family by her side, at Iowa Specialty Hospital in Belmond, at the age of 61 years.  She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Raymond and Ann Summers; niece, Melissa Gill; aunts, Barb Swanberg and Mae Garrett and brother-in-law, Mike Renken.

    Shelly is survived by her husband, Bryan Gill; children: Janelle Gill of Eagle Grove Alicia Gill (Jesse Cross) of Cameron, MO, Ryan Gill (Sara) of Fort Worth, TX and Cassidy Reed (Jake) of Eagle Grove; ten grandchildren: Emma, Evan, Eli, Sierra, Brayton, Brooklyn, Kameryn, Bentley, Emerson and Ames; parents, Walter and Norma Summers of Bradgate; sisters, Laurie Herr (Rod)  and Starla Renken of Eagle Grove; brother, Craig Summers (Vicki) of Fort Dodge; mother-in-law, Patricia Gump of Eagle Grove  and many nieces, nephews, other family and friends. 

     Visitation is Sunday, January 30, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove.

     Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family and mailed to 417 S. Park Ave Eagle Grove, IA 50533.
