Shirley Ann (Roe) Hilpipre

    Shirley Ann Hilpipre, the daughter of Otto and Jeanette (Abramson) Roe, was born on December 18, 1939, in Jewell, Iowa. She was raised and educated in Radcliffe, graduating from Radcliffe High School in 1958.

    Shirley was united in marriage with Lundy Hilpipre on May 13, 1972, in Elk Point, SD.  The couple made their home in Webster City for a couple of years and then moved to Eagle Grove in 1974.

    Shirley worked for 25 years at Rotary Ann as a Med Aide.  She worked as a grocery clerk prior to that in Webster City and Eagle Grove.

    Shirley had a great love for all animals, she enjoyed being a grandmother and great-grandmother, crocheting, camping, cooking for large family gatherings and loved playing cribbage and cards.

    Shirley was a member of First Baptist Church.

    Shirley passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Muse Norris Hospice in Mason City, at the age of 78 years.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Robert K. Jessen, Jr. and Bradley K. Jessen; brother, Richard Roe (Beverly); sister, Thelma Newman (Bob); nephews, Paul and Denny Newman and daughter-in-law, Kay Jessen.

       Survivors include daughters, Barb Boyd (Wayne) of Goldfield and Kristi Hilpipre (Mike Mallinger) of Eagle Grove; daughter-in-law, Diane Jessen of Eagle Grove; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews and many caring friends.

     Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-7 at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Eagle Grove, with Pastor Steve Swanholm officiating.  Burial to follow Rose Hill Cemetery in Eagle Grove.

     Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
